Inge Durkey describes the importance of training the eyes to see. Durkey teached students how to visually see textures, shapes and form within an image. The first assignment she introduced to her students was a nine square art board. Each art board had to be a different composition of shapes, color and objects. Durkey pushed her students to see images more in depth and through simplicity. Turkey also encouraged her students to imitate different textures from old labels so they can understand the process of producing each texture.
Turkey then moves on to typography. She identifies that roman letters were created with movement and that each letter was a memorabilia of movement. She also identifies that letters have a variety of geometric elements. She specifically points out that each letter has rhythmic carving.
Lastly, Durkey describes how we distribute color and identify the significants of shades. She describes the importance of design through capturing the importance of anything Design captures the simplicity and importance of images.

YouTube Video Review
I think working for an agency seems like an exciting career. Pursuing Graphic Design, I have always wondered how I wanted to approach my career; freelance or with an agency. I have always wanted to experience working for an agency. Margo explains the many reasons why working for an agency could be fun, and exciting. I personally like to work as a team. I like to collaborate and observe different perspectives within other individuals. I think that's what makes design so interesting.
I am also interested working free lance because I feel like you can really express yourself and your art. Sometimes art can be creative in itself in the rawest form with no critique. I feel like that's what makes design interesting and unique. However I feel like with more than one pair of eyes on a piece of work, one might be able to be more successful in getting their art out in the community by having an audience relate to the art. All of which is important, I think it all just depends on the genre of design. Overall both videos were very informative and helpful.
